Nota Bene:

This is a brand new website, and a work in progress. The most active links in the menu are BLOG and ENROLL. The menu items ABOUT and CONTACT still need work. To get through DESIGN, a password is required. The texts below are just more musings about this website.

You can trust that I’ll be posting here everyday for all of the year 2022. The admin page of this website is the first thing my FireFox browser opens in the morning.

History

The domain name MMXXII.com was first registered by me at Dotster more than 14 years ago. It was once quantified in value as being little more than a D+ grade, unlike other more or less ambiguous domain names, which happen to get rated A+.

State

The WordPress engine that powers this site is version 5.9. No plugins are active except for RankMath SEO, because I want to see if the Google search engine will actually mention this site when there’s a search for “mmxxii”. So far, it shows up on page #9. Well, that just made it worse: Page 10 of about 4,050,000 results.

I’ve tried out each of the themes among the default releases, going from TwentyTen on up to TwentyTwentyTwo, to see which one serves this site’s best purpose.

What you are seeing now is the TwentyTwentyOne theme. The new default block theme is being closely looked at right now.

This site is hosted by HostGator on a trial basis for now, because if you pay for 3 years, it’s cheap.

Now it is time to focus on workflow. The secret is to spend hours & hours, reading & writing code.

My intention is to develop this website into something interesting, at least worth the value of your time. Stay tuned to see how it improves over the following days.

Here are the next steps (starting soon):

  1. Create a system to curate image files and save database records.
  2. Write a parser.php app to read traffic log files.
  3. Print business cards with MMXXII in Cochin font.
  4. Contact potential online/offline affiliates; what’s wanted?
  5. Walk/bike around handing out business cards, talk to decision makers. Encourage them to email garch@mmxxii.com
  6. Put up a kiosk at Bay Area markets to sell MMXXII tchotchkes.
  7. Kick shopcampbell.com into gear to help with branding.
  8. Why is my old iPad choking on gamultable.com?
