You’re right! I’d never looked closely until now. They’re like little individual sculptures.
And the guy on the left looks like a devil. The angel is sympathizing with the poor fellow on the right.
And notice he’s gripping a major piece, one of ten he’s captured, compared to the few his innocent opponent has. Appears the good vs evil game is lobsided.
